Teen Held on $1M Bail After 48-Hour Boston Crime Spree

A 16-year-old male is being held on $1 million bail following his arraignment on multiple charges, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and assault.

A 16-year-old male from Lancaster, Massachusetts, is being held on $1 million bail following a 48-hour crime spree along Boston's MBTA Red Line corridor from Dorchester to South Boston.

On Jan. 11 around 9:30 p.m., an individual was robbed at gunpoint at the Fields Corner MBTA station. Approximately 24 hours later, a female victim was followed at gunpoint out of the same station and was was able to walk into a well-lit area. She ran to a Boston Police station and the suspect fled the scene. Based on suspect descriptions, police believed the same suspect was responsible for both incidents. 

One hour later on the morning of Jan. 13, a victim traveling between South Station and Broadway station reported being robbed and resisted a kidnapping attempt. A short time later, a woman was approached while exiting the Fields Corner station and was robbed at gunpoint and sexually assaulted.

Boston Police and MBTA Police launched a full investigation at this time. Around 9 a.m. on Jan. 13, MBTA police spotted the suspect at the Fields Corner station. The suspect fled and was apprehended on Dorchester Avenue. 

The teen suspect is charged with attempted murder, armed and masked robbery, indecent assault and battery, and attempted kidnapping, along with other various charges. 

The district attorney's office says the juvenile suspect was arraigned in Suffolk County Juvenile Court.   The suspect will be arraigned in Dorchester Municipal Juvenile Court for additional offenses that were investigated by Boston Police and MBTA Transit Police.
