Our temperatures continue to heat up as we head into the tail end of the work week. Late this evening, a weakening line of showers and storms will move through northern and western New England. Some of which could produce small hail, gusty wind and heavy rainfall along with lightning. The storms decay as they head east.

A storm may live on as it heads through central Massachusetts or northern New Hampshire, but most of us stay dry and muggy. Overnight lows will drop to the 60s and near dewpoint, so watch again for fog to develop.

Expect another foggy start to the day on Thursday, then increasing sunshine with more summer heat as highs reach the mid 80 inland, cooler at the coast.

Friday we will make a run at 90 degrees across the interior, while a sea breeze could halt that achievement for Boston. Boston's average first 90 degree day is June 8 and we still have not hit the mark. Northern New England will be hot and humid, with pop up storms in the afternoon.

Saturday brings us some active weather as a warm front lifts through southern New England in the late morning. Scattered showers and storms will be likely Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Some of those storms could be strong to severe with damaging wind and some hail. The cooler and drier air is slow to move in Sunday, but once it does we will get the rain out of here.

The start to the July 4th week will be cooler and less humid Monday. More 80 degree high temperatures will be in the forecast through the holiday, with a daily chance for a pop up shower or storm in the afternoons.
