Terror Has World on Edge

The terror attack that left at least 84 people dead in Nice, France, has the world reeling — including some in New England.

"After the terror attacks in Nice, our thoughts go out to the victims and their families," said Valery Freland, the French consul general in Boston. "I would like to thank the American authorities and the American people for their strong support and their many expressions of solidarity and compassion."

However, some in the world have become numb to the violence, as it happens every day in their home countries, including Israel.

"Those happen all the time and there's no media attention to it," said Tatiana Hasson, now a Bostonian after living in Israel.

Hasson has become desensitized to what some would describe as less sophisticated terror attacks.

"If there was no security in place like there is now in Israel, I would say I don't think that sense of comfort or "continue to live our lives" would be the same."
