    It is that time of the year again to celebrate everything spooky and make sure your kids get all the best candy.

    Maureen Dahill and Heather Foley from Caught in Southie have some useful “dos and don’ts” for kids and parents trick-or-treating in South Boston and the rest of the city for Halloween. These insiders have some hilarious advice from finding the best neighborhood to scavenge for treats to costume choice.

    Caught in Southie also has a list of their “spookiest picks” for fun Halloween events in the city including a magical haunted castle for kids, a parade for kids/pets and local parties.

    Back Bay:

    Marlborough Street from Berkeley Street to Fairfield Street in the Back Bay from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Beacon Hill roads along Charles Street for beautiful decorations and a festive crowd.

    Charlestown

    Monument Square in Charlestown from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Dorchester

    Butler Street from Richmond St. to Branchfield Street in Dorchester from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Ocean Street from Welles Avenue to Ashmont Street in Dorchester from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    East Boston

    St. Andrew Road from Bayswater Street to Annavoy Street in East Boston from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Fenway

    Morville House (100 Norway Street) in the Fenway from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    Hyde Park

    Colchester Street from Neponset Valley Parkway to Millstone Road in Hyde Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
