Three Accused of Stabbing Man, Stealing His Car

Three men allegedly stabbed another man in Massachusetts, then carjacked him before being arrested by state police.

Twenty-one-year-old Nathaniel F. Pires, 23-year-old Abner S. Juarez and 21-year-old Kevin T. Fragoso, all Fall River residents, are facing charges of receiving a stolen vehicle, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed carjacking. Authorities say Pires faces an additional charge of carrying a dangerous weapon.

Massachusetts State Police say the victim, a 24-year-old Bradford man, called 9-1-1 around 1:45 a.m. Monday saying he was stabbed and carjacked on I-195 eastbound in Swansea, then thrown from his 1996 Ford Crown Victoria.

The victim reportedly told state troopers that he was driving Pires, Juarez and Fragoso from Rhode Island back to Fall River when they stabbed him twice during an argument, throwing him from his car onto I-195. Police say the victim had to roll out of the lane to avoid being hit by another vehicle.

The suspects were arrested a little while later after a trooper spotted the Ford Crown Victoria in a convenience store parking lot, according to state police; police add they found a knife under a floor mat in the car's back seat.

Pires, Juarez and Fragoso are being held pending their arraignment in Fall River District Court Monday. There's no word on if they have a lawyer.

The victim's condition is unknown.
