A wintry mix is possible in northern New England. This is the kind of rain where you need to make sure your sump pumps are working. It has been a wet stretch and with a partially frozen ground, the water won’t have any place to go.

The heavy rain will come in multiple rounds with another period of heavy rains coming this morning. The final round of heavy rain will push through Sunday evening. By 10 PM Sunday, most of the heavy will have exited.

When all is said and done 1-2.5-inches of rain is likely. Drier weather will move in Monday and Tuesday.
