Tour Bus Slides, Overturns on Snowy Vermont Interstate

Vermont State Police say a tour bus ended up on its side on a snow-covered Interstate 91, with most of the 14 people aboard suffering minor injuries.

Police said the southbound bus was traveling too fast for the road conditions at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. It spun around before sliding into a median and partially overturned near Orleans. Witnesses said the bus had been passing other vehicles before the crash.

None of the injured passengers required hospitalization.

Police said the bus driver was given a ticket. They said additional violations are under consideration pending results of a vehicle inspection.

Police said there were multiple crashes on the interstate Tuesday during a snowstorm, including two jackknifed tractor trailers. One was transporting oil tanks.
