Tractor Trailer Crashes into Beverly Home

Police are searching for the driver of a tractor trailer that crashed into a Beverly, Massachusetts home overnight.

Police say the tractor trailer crashed into the home on Roundy Street around 1:45a.m. on Thursday.

The son of the homeowner, Glenti Jalli, told NBC10 Boston the family was asleep in the home when he described experiencing what sounded and felt like an earthquake. They came downstairs to find the gaping hole in their living room and the cab of the tractor trailer in the street.

"Everyone's fine," Jalli told NBC10 Boston. "I'm still at a loss for words."

"You wouldn't expect this to happen to you," he said.

The driver apparently took off running but the passenger remained at the scene.

Police have identified the driver as 24-year-old Samuel Felder of Valdosta, Georgia. He remains at large.

Charges against Felder are pending and the crash remains under investigation.

Repair crews boarded up the home early Thursday morning. Firefighters reportedly told the family the home is structurally safe so the family plans to stay.
