Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Crash on I-84 on Southington-Plainville Line

Police are trying to figure out who the person killed is.

A 31-year-old Plainville man is dead after a tractor-trailer hit him on Interstate 84 West at the Plainville-Southington line just after 4 a.m. on Monday, according to state police.

Anthony Patrick Toscano was standing in the right lane of the highway between exits 32 and 33 when he was struck by a Mack truck registered out of Pennsylvania, according to a news release from state police.

Emergency crews reported Toscano dead at the scene.

Police orginially did not know who the pedestrian is and asked for the public's help to identify the victim.

The highway was closed early Monday morning, but has since reopened.

Police ask anyone who saw the crash to call State Police.
