Marblehead Coach Gets Additional Assault Charges

Chris Prew plead not guilty today to additional charges of indecent assault of a child

    (Published Friday, March 23, 2018)

The trial of a Massachusetts youth hockey coach charged with sexually abusing 10 boys has been delayed until May.

The Salem News reports that 32-year-old Christopher Prew, of Winthrop, was arrested in February 2018 after the mother of a 9-year-old boy went to Marblehead police to allege he had been touching her son inappropriately.

Shortly after the first report, other boys came forward to authorities, including one in Newton and another in Quebec, Canada, to report alleged abuse by Prew.

The judge has given no reason for the trial's delay.
