Trial Takes a Day Off in N.H. Prep School Rape Case

Nineteen-year-old Owen Labrie of Tunbridge, Vermont, is charged with multiple felonies

After an emotional start, the trial of a New Hampshire prep school graduate charged with raping an underclassman as part of a practice of sexual conquest is taking a break.

Nineteen-year-old Owen Labrie of Tunbridge, Vermont, is charged with multiple felonies. Prosecutors say he was two days away from graduation last year when he raped the then-15-year-old girl in a building at St. Paul's School in Concord.

Labrie has pleaded not guilty and said the two had consensual sexual contact.

Under questioning Thursday from Labrie's lawyer, the girl burst into tears, saying she was "violated in so many ways."

She acknowledged helping Labrie remove her shirt and pants and said she didn't protest because she didn't want to be offensive.

The judge sent the jury home until Monday.
