Testimony in the trial of a Massachusetts man charged with fatally beating and suffocating his 83-year-old father is scheduled to get underway

Testimony in the trial of a Massachusetts man charged with fatally beating and suffocating his 83-year-old father is scheduled to get underway.

Glenn Armstrong, who once served prison time for threatening to kill then-President Bill Clinton, is charged with murder in the January 2017 death of Walter Armstrong, who was found on the floor of his Blackstone home with a trash bag over his head.

Prosecutors say the younger man also stole his father's pickup truck and drove it to New Jersey, where he was apprehended.

Jury selection was completed Thursday and testimony is scheduled to start Monday in Worcester Superior Court.

The 50-year-old Glenn Armstrong was sentenced to 21 months in prison for threatening to kill Clinton in 1994.

His attorneys say he has a history of mental illness.
