Truck Plows Into Bob's Store in Billerica, Massachusetts

A Dodge pick up truck plowed into a Bob's Store Tuesday afternoon in Billerica, Massachusetts, according to police.

The truck somehow went in between two metal barriers, through two large glass doors, and into the store where the customer representative table is.

The 68-year-old driver was trapped for severeal moments. He was checked out on scene and refused treatment.

The store was open at the time of the crash, but fire crews say no one was in the area at the time the truck slammed into the customer service section.

Workers who were inside at the time say they are safe, but very shaken up.

Witnesses report they didn't hear any brakes, just a huge crash. They looked over and the truck was inside the store, with the tires still spinning.

Officials evacuated the store to be safe.

The truck was removed from the scene, and the store was closed Tuesday evening.

A building inspector, an electrical inspector, and investigators were on scene to secure the building.

The cleanup work is underway, but witnesses say they're grateful no one was hurt at the busy shopping center.

It's not immediately clear what caused the driver to crash.

Billerica police are investigating.
