A Maine man was found dead Thursday morning in a camper he was warming with two kerosene heaters, officials say.

Stanley Gordon discovered the body of his 52-year-old son, Craig Gordon, around 7 a.m., according to state police. The camper was parked by the garage of the victim's Turkey Lane home.

While there was no fire, thick smoke and soot were left in the camper. Investigators are working to determine whether one of the heaters malfunctioned.

The medical examiner's office is planning to examine the body to determine the cause of Gordon's death.
