Typical Summer Weather

Dew points were in the 70s Saturday and today they were in the low 50s

Our nice break from the humidity will continue. Dew points were in the 70s Saturday and today they were in the low 50s. Even though the thermometer showed temperatures in the middle 80s, it barely felt like 80° today. The air is so dry that the “heat index” was actually cooler than the air temperature.

We’re expecting plenty of dry time this week, but there is no strong area of high pressure. Weak disturbances will move through the region. Most morning start off dry, but showers and thunder will pop during the afternoon. The good news is, most showers and/or thunderstorms last 20-30 minutes and then you can carry on with your outdoor plans.

There are 5 more days left in June and it appears we will finish off the month with above average temperatures. That’s a significant turnaround! June started off with two days with high temperatures in the 50s! We quickly turned the corner with our second heatwave of the summer between June 11 and 13.

Unfortunately, it appears this unsettled weather will continue through the 4th. Don’t cancel your outdoor plans just yet, but make sure you have an indoor option just in case. Temperatures will remain seasonably mild with humidity beginning to increase by later this week.
