The school issued a statement on their Facebook page saying the man was not a student himself and that they will “take as strong an action as the law permits"

The University of Southern Maine says it is taking action after a student reported she was the target of racial harassment in the school’s library.

According to necn affiliate WCSH, student Nimco Mohamed made a post on Facebook saying a man approached her in the library and told her to “go back to your country.”

The school issued a statement on their Facebook page saying the man was not a student himself and that they will “take as strong an action as the law permits."

If the man returns to the library, he will be issued a criminal trespass order, preventing him from entering the library.
