Police: 15-Year-Old Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Car

Police in Upton, Massachusetts are investigating after a 15-year-old boy on a bicycle was seriously injured after being hit by a car Wednesday afternoon.

Upton police said they responded to a report of a crash involving a bicyclist hit near Station and Grove streets shortly after 3 p.m.

The teen was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries.

The driver of the 2014 Toyota Avalon involved in the crash was identified by police as 69-year-old Upton resident Mary Chiulli. It's unclear if she will face any charges.

Investigators said they believe the bicyclist exited a driveway in front of the driver just before the crash.

Aerial footage from the scene showed a bicycle laying in the road, which was blocked off to traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
