Vermont Considers Ban on Aerial Drone Hunting

The state of Vermont could become the latest state to ban hunting with the help of aerial drones

The state of Vermont could become the latest state to ban hunting with the help of aerial drones.

A rule being considered by the Fish and Wildlife Board would prohibit people from using drones or aircraft that carry people to locate game animals or herd animals toward waiting hunters on the ground.

A number of states have already implemented similar bans.

Hunting from drones or aircraft hasn't been a problem in Vermont, but the state's rule-making Fish and Wildlife Board is considering a new rule that would ban it. A hearing that is part of the rule-making process is set for next month.

Game Warden Lt. Curtis Smiley says most ethical hunters don't agree with the idea of hunting with drones.
