Vermont Man Pleads Not Guilty to Attacking Pregnant Girlfriend

A Vermont man has pleaded not guilty to charges he attacked his pregnant girlfriend and dragged her down the road with his car.

The Times-Argus reports 33-year-old Jeffrey Flood of Barre entered the plea Tuesday in Chittenden County criminal court to a felony count of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and other offenses.

Police say someone reported Sunday night that a woman had been assaulted. The woman told police that Flood, who she had been dating, picked her up near her home earlier that night.

Police say the woman told them Phelps physically assaulted her after the two started to argue. She says she was dragged down the road after trying to exit his vehicle.
