Vermont Roads Closed Due to Flooding

A quick 1-3 inches of rain fell in downpours last night into this morning through parts of central and northwestern Vermont last night into this morning.

Following an already soggy month, this is resulting in very high river levels and some flooding.

Parts of Route 128 in Essex are closed due to flooding as of Friday morning.

A flash flood watch remains in effect not only for northern Vermont, but also for parts of northern New Hampshire and western Maine as more downpours and storms are likely both Friday and Saturday afternoon. These will not be all day rains, but instead will be periodic passing downpours.

That could still create new areas of flooding into the weekend.

Rain chances will decrease by Sunday, and especially into Monday.
