A Vermont Senate committee is digging into specifics on possible marijuana legalization ranging from the size of grow operations to whether there should be preferences as to who gets a grower's license.

In testimony before the Senate Government Operations Committee, supporters of legalization said they believe there should be room under the law for people to grown their own at home for their own consumption, but that there should be limits on the size of commercial operations.

Sen. Jeannette White, chairwoman of the committee, says the panel wants to work out the details of how marijuana legalization would work in Vermont before putting the question before the full Senate and House as to whether Vermont should go that route.
