Vermont State Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

Vermont State Police are investigating an armed robbery in the town of Waitsfield.

Vermont State Police are investigating an armed robbery in the town of Waitsfield.

On Monday around 11:50 a.m., a lone individual, whose gender has not been identified, entered the Northfield Savings Bank on Route 100. Police say the suspect brandished a gun and demanded money from the teller. The individual fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and headed south on Route 100.

The suspect is described as a person between 5'4" and 5'6" and approximately 130 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, a black overcoat, loosely tied brown hiking boots, and Ray-Ban style sunglasses. Investigation revealed that prior to the robbery, the suspect was acting suspiciously at the Evergreen Senior Center, which is next door to the bank.

No one was injured in the robbery. Vermont State Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 802-229-9191.
