Vermont Waiving Fees In Honor of National Get Outdoors Day

Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest is waiving most day use and camping fees in honor of National Get Outdoors Day, which is June 11.

With the exception of the Hopgood Pond Campground in Peru, Vermont, those wishing to enjoy the forest on Saturday may do so for free.

Access to most forest lands - including picnic areas, campsites, beach and lake areas, trails boat launches and cabins - is usually free. Fees are usually charged at developed campgrounds, but most of those will be waived on Saturday.

Similar free days are planned for September and November.
