Victim in Chelsea Drive-By Shooting Identified

Authorities are still investigating the shooting, which also injured a 19-year-old woman

Authorities have identified a Massachusetts man who died over the weekend from his injuries sustained in an apparent drive-by shooting last week in Chelsea.

Eduardo Troche, 37, of Chelsea passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday night after being shot on Congress Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to police.

An unidentified 19-year-old woman was also injured in the shooting, but police say she is recovering and expected to survive.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, and investigators said they were interested in a small gray sedan, possibly a Honda, in connection with the incident.

Chelsea police are unsure if the shooting was gang related, but said the incident did not appear to be random. No suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call Chelsea investigators at (617) 466-4800.
