Vt. Man Charged With Striking Man in Head With Pool Stick

Victim was treated for injuries at hospital and released

A Vermont man was arrested Sunday morning after state police said he allegedly struck a man in the head with a pool stick at a Montgomery bar.

State police were called to the Snow Shoe Tavern where the victim told authorities that Matthew Pion, 27, of Lowell, had struck him in the head. The victim, Zachary Tarte, 21, was taken to Northwestern Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and released.

Police caught up with Pion in Lowell, Vt. and took him into custody. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Court on August 1st on charges of aggravated assault.
