Vt. Man Dies in Apparent Drowning at Lake

The medical examiner's office in Burlington will perform an autopsy on Friday to determine the case and manner of death

Police say a 29-year-old man found face down in water apparently drowned while at a beach in Westmore, Vermont.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Department says bystanders found Lance Tabor of Brownington floating in knee-deep water at Lake Willoughby's North Beach and pulled him out. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. It happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The medical examiner's office in Burlington will perform an autopsy on Friday to determine the case and manner of death. The sheriff's department says the death is being treated as a drowning and that an investigation is continuing.
