Wallingford Man Charged With Attacking FedEx Driver

A Wallingford man is accused of attacking a FedEx driver when he came home and found the truck parked in his driveway, according to Wallingford police.

Police arrested 59-year-old Peter Amadon after an incident on April 3.

According to police, Amadon returned to his home on S. Cherry Street that afternoon and found a FedEx truck parked in his driveway. Police allege that Amadon blocked the driveway with his pickup and began arguing with the female FedEx driver.

Police said the fight turned physical when Amadon tried to grab the driver out of the truck and she opened her door to push him away. Amadon then pushed the door back and hit the driver in the face. When the driver tried to get out of the truck and back away, he charged her, police said, and they struggled until a witness called police.

During the fight there was an 8-year-old child in the passenger seat of Amadon’s truck, police said.

Amadon was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 18.
