Wareham Man Charged With Fourth OUI

A Wareham man was arrested and charged with his fourth OUI, police said.

Two police officers were on patrol in the White Island area of Wareham, Massachusetts as part of a Federal Grant program Friday night.

According to police, Officer Aaron Pacheco was driving down Barker Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. when he was forced to swerve off of the road to prevent a head on collision with a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane.

Although the accident was averted, the vehicle continued down the street in the wrong lane.

Officer Pacheco turned his cruiser around and followed the vehicle, which pulled over and stopped on Morrison Street, police said.

After an investigation, police identified the suspect as Ronald Deshiro Jr., 55, of 165 Lake Avenue in East Wareham.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.

Deshiro is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. According to police, this is his fourth OUI.

Deshiro is scheduled to appear in Wareham District Court on July 30. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
