Warmer Sunday, Hot Labor Day

The wind shifts from east Saturday to south Sunday, bringing warmer air with it. That allows more humid air to trickle in.

We start the day in the 50s and 60s with patchy fog. Any fog burns to a mix of sun and clouds, highs pop into the 80s. A slight chance of a shower or sprinkle to the west Sunday.

Humidity builds even further on Labor Day Monday. High in the 80s to near 90 ahead of an approaching cold front. That front will get close enough to trigger a few pop up downpours or storms, especially in far Western and Northern New England.

The storm threat approaches Southern New England on Tuesday as the front sags south.

It will also still be humid and hot on Tuesday, with highs around 90 in much of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. It will turn a bit more comfortable in Northern New England.

Temperatures stay above average for much of the workweek after that point, before getting close to average by next weekend.
