Mostly Dry Weekend Ahead

As we look ahead to our Friday evening, those pop-up downpours and thunderstorms will move out as early as 8PM.  After sunset, these showers will move off the coastline and we see a partial clearing of the skies overnight with some patchy fog developing.  Lows will slip into the upper 40s north to near 50 south.  Another wave of energy from that pesky low pressure that’s been ushering in those daily lines of lines of thunderstorms, slides in Saturday which could pop up an isolated shower north in the morning, slight chance for southern New England in the afternoon, otherwise dry under partly cloudy skies and highs near 70.  Sunday brings more clouds than sunshine, as we look westward towards the Midwest and into upstate New York as the next system swiftly slides closer to New England.

By dinner time Sunday, these showers will reach western New England and continue to fill in eastward, making for a soggy evening Sunday.  These showers, heavy at times, will continue into Monday.  This will result in a gloomy start to the work week, which will cool those temperatures.  Highs Sunday will at least reach into the lower 70s before Monday and Tuesday’s highs only reach into the lower 60s with a few locations that will struggle to make it out of the 50s.

The rest of the work week we’ll see a warm-up with highs into the upper 60s Wednesday with 70 degree highs back by Thursday.
