Weather Front Bringing Possibility of Snow

That weather front from Tuesday night now stretches from near Greenland to the deep Gulf of Mexico, across Mexico and into the Pacific Ocean.

Areas of low-pressure developing along the front are the forecast challenge from the desert southwest, including Mexico to The Gulf Coast States to all the way up the Eastern Seaboard.

There's a winter storm warning in South Texas and northern Mexico. It's incredible how far south the cold and snow have pushed.

Here in New England, we are just quiet for now with seasonable weather. Temperatures climb into the lower mid-40s for both today and tomorrow, then cool through the 30s into the 20s overnight.

Clouds associated with the same front move back in tomorrow, as rain gets close to Cape Cod, as one wave of low-pressure just misses us to the east.

Another more potent storm, that may bring snow the parts of Georgia, will intensify moving up along the eastern seaboard during Saturday.

Rain and/or snow may develop along our coast Saturday afternoon. Any rain would be changing to snow and spreading inland late Saturday and Saturday night.

It is still a tough call on how much, if any, snow accumulates. But odds are increasing that we get at least a couple of inches, perhaps more if the system should track further west.

We will be fine tuning the Saturday and Sunday forecast as it gets closer. Either way, it looks wintry with temperatures mostly in the 30s by day and teens and 20s at night this weekend.

The weather then turns colder quiet for later Sunday into Monday before the next system.

On Tuesday, will be watching the potential for a front moving out of Canada and more action coming in off the Atlantic ocean with a chance of more rain or snow near the shore and snow inland later Tuesday and Wednesday. Then cold to record cold air arrives for the middle of second half of next week with temperatures only in the teens and 20s.
