Weekend to Start and End With Showers

Best part of the weekend weather-wise will be Saturday afternoon

Increasing clouds will chase away morning sun and lead to rain and thunder for late day Friday, slowing the evening drive and continuing through dinnertime for many.

The Red Sox have a first pitch scheduled for 7:10 this evening and the steadiest of the rain will just be clearing out of Boston around or just before then, meaning while a delay is possible at the onset, as long as field conditions allow for play, most of the game will see only a shower or two with moist air but heavy downpours gone.

Clouds, fog and a few showers will linger overnight and provide a gray start for many Saturday early morning, but as clouds and fog burn off Saturday, a gorgeous day unfolds for most of us with highs around 70 away from a cooler ocean sea breeze.

A cool pocket of air slides over New England for the second half of the weekend. That means we’ll have clouds bubbling up, along with a few spotty showers. There may even be some small hail that mixes in at times, courtesy of the cold pocket of air aloft. Highs will be in the 50s to near 60. Expect similar conditions on Monday, with a mixture of sun and clouds along with a few pop up showers.

A real warm up arrives for the middle of next week though. By that point highs will approach and perhaps exceed 80 for the first time in months!
