A Weymouth man was arrested late Saturday after an incident on Route 3 that left a 3-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries.
Police determined Florian Roshi, 34, was driving while impaired by narcotics when the accident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Roshi is charged with operating under the influence of drugs, child endangerment, safety restraint violation, and motor vehicle charges.
Roshi's 3-year-old passenger was ejected from the pickup truck in the single-vehicle crash and transported to Children's Hospital. He remains in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation indicates the boy was not wearing a seat belt when Roshi's Ford F-250 pickup veered out of the travel lane and brushed the guardrail before swinging back into the travel lane. Authorities allege Roshi overcorrected in his steering, causing the unrestrained 3-year-old boy to be ejected onto the roadway.
An 8-year-old boy who was also a passenger in the truck was not injured. He is currently in custody of authorities at South Shore Hospital.
Officials are not disclosing the relationship between Roshi and the two boys at this time.

Roshi's bail was set for $2,540. State police said he's expected to post the bail, and that he's due in Quincy District Court on Monday for his arraignment.
It's unclear if he has an attorney.
