Wife of Patriots' Harvey Langi Tweets Message Following Release From Hospital

The wife of New England Patriots linebacker Harvey Langi took to Twitter to thank the public for its support as the pair recover from injuries sustained from a car crash Friday.

Cassidy Langi sent out a tweet Sunday morning referencing the team's statement and identifying herself as the passenger.

"Thanks to everyone for the love and support," she tweeted. "We are both focused on recovering from this."

Langi was driving with his wife Cassidy Friday night in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when they were involved in a three-car crash.

Langi's car and a second car were both stopped at a stop light when they were rear ended by a third vehicle. Langi's car was sandwiched between the first car and the car that rear ended them.

It was a serious crash that required the Jaws of Life to remove one person from the wreckage. The accident happened at the intersection of Commercial Street and Fisher Street.

Both Langi and his wife were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries.

Three people from the first car were taken to Norwood Hospital.

Two people in the Jeep that struck the two vehicles refused treatment on scene.

The New England Patriots released the following statement:

"We are aware of the traffic accident involving Harvey Langi and a passenger last night in Foxborough," the statement read. "Our thoughts are with Harvey, the Langi family and those who sustained injuries in last night’s accident.”

Langi was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on May 5 after going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old out of Brigham Young University has played in one game this season.

The Patriots have ruled Langi out for Sunday's game against the New York Jets due to a back injury.
