Boston Celtics Land the #3 Pick in the NBA Draft

The picks were announced Tuesday night

The Boston Celtics earned the third pick in the NBA draft.

Boston Celtics fans kept a close eye on the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night.

They hoped that the ping pong balls will bounce the C's way for once.

The Celtics had the third-best odds - or a little over 15 percent - of landing the number one pick, thanks to owning the Brooklyn Nets' first round pick. They had nearly a 47 percent chance of getting a top three pick.

The last time the Celtics had these types of odds was in 2007 when they wound up falling out of the top three. That spurred them to trade for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett, who led the team to the 2008 NBA Championship.

The draft lottery was held at 8 p.m. Necn's sister station CSN will host a Celtics Draft Lottery Special from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
