Winthrop, Mass. Fire Officials Seek Help In Arson Case

Fire marshals are seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual who intentionally set a two-story family home ablaze Saturday in Winthrop, Massachusetts.

The fire occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. at 137 Winthrop Shore Drive and caused minor damage to the structure. An investigation by the Winthrop Fire and Police Departments along with state fire marshals determined the blaze stemmed from an act of arson.

Anyone who has information on the arson is asked to contact the statewide Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229. The hotline is a part of the Arson Watch Reward Program that offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the individual or group responsible for the fire.
