All lanes of Route 495 in Westford are now open after a high tension wire fire caused lanes to be shut down for hours Saturday.
According to Massachusetts State Police, Route 495 reopened just before 1 p.m. Saturday.
Route 495 north and southbound were shut down around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The area affected was by the Boston Road exit. Only the breakdown lanes were open to traffic.
The fire was supposedly started when lightning struck the wire Friday night.
National Grid said the lanes would be closed for several hours.
