Maine Police Investigating 4-Year-Old Girl's Death

State and local authorities in Maine are investigating a 4-year-old girl's death.

State police say Kendall Chick was found by local police in her Wiscasset home on Friday afternoon after they received a call reporting an unresponsive child.

Chick was taken to Mid-Coast Hospital in Brunswick, where she died shortly after arriving.

The girl, who turned 4 on Nov. 26, lived at the home on Crickets Lane with her grandfather, Stephen Hood, and his fiancee, Shawna Gatto, according to state police.

An autopsy has been performed, but officials have not released results.

Her grandfather and his fiancee have been interviewed, and detectives are still investigating the girl's death.
