Woman Attacked in Worcester Home, Robbed by Couple: Police

The suspects allegedly attacked the woman with pepper spray and forced their way inside

A pair of people claiming to be selling solar panels attacked and robbed a woman in her Worcester, Massachusetts home on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Police said they were called to a home on Epworth Street for an apparent home invasion shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

They met a 45-year-woman who said a man and a woman had knocked on her door, saying they were selling solar panels, according to authorities. When she declined, the man pepper sprayed the homeowner and the two forced their way inside.

In the home, they attacked the woman and put her in a closet, where she was told not to move, police said. The couple ransacked the victim's home, apparently taking one of her things with them.

The woman managed to ecape from the closet, and was later treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
