Woman Charged With Selling Meth in Death of Teacher

Authorities say 38-year-old Amy Matton, of Portsmouth, was arrested Monday

A New Hampshire woman has been charged with selling methadone in connection with the death of an elementary school teacher in Dover.

Authorities say 38-year-old Amy Matton, of Portsmouth, was arrested Monday and charged with acts prohibited relating to the sale of the controlled drug methadone in the death of 27-year-old Bryant Lausbert. The charge carries a sentence of up to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Matton was held without bail pending two hearings scheduled for Dec. 5. It wasn't immediately known if she has an attorney.

Dover police say Lausbert was found unresponsive in his home in May and later declared dead.

Lausberg was a teacher at Rollinsford Grade School.

Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration have been investigating since Lausberg's death.
