Woman Charged in Maine Supermarket Killing Pleads Guilty

A woman accused of stabbing a victim at random in a Maine supermarket has pleaded guilty to murder.

Police charged Connor MacCalister with killing 59-year-old Wendy Boudreau at a Shaw's in Saco in August. MacCalister entered the guilty plea over the objection of her lawyer Thursday in York County Superior Court.

MacCalister is a transgender man formerly known as Tanisha Hopkins, but MacCalister asked to be referred to as a woman in court Thursday.

An affidavit shows MacCalister told police she had gone to the store to kill "several random people." Court records also state that MacCalister said she was "off my meds" at the time of the stabbing.
