Woman Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Worcester, Mass.

Cause of crash is under investigation

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts are investigating a deadly multi-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the intersection of Blackstone River Road and Whipple Street at 12:31 p.m. where a 48-year-old woman had been ejected from a Jaguar. Police said the victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities said an initial investigation revealed that the woman driving the Jaguar was travelling down Whipple Street toward Blackstone River Road at a high rate of speed, but was sounding the car's horn as she traveled. The woman then collided with a Ford Expedition, a Pontiac and a Chevy Cruze before she was ejected from her Jaguar.

No other injuries were reported. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
