Woman Dies After Fatal Crash in Worcester, Massachusetts

The crash occurred on Wednesday

One woman died after a car accident occurred in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Wednesday.

According to the Worcester Police Department, the crash occurred at Park Ave and Lovell Street.

The victim, a 96-year-old female was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the crash.

She was taken to a local hospital where she later passed away due to the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Officials arrived on scene around 2 p.m. where they learned a 2003 Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Park Avenue towards a construction site.

According to the Worcester Police Department, the Jeep changed lanes without yielding to adjacent traffic as it approached the construction site and collided with a 2007 Buick.

The operator of the Buick lost control of the car due to the collision and drove up and over the curb, onto the sidewalk.

The Buick continued traveling foward and struck a construction vehicle that was parked in the construction zone.

Paramedics responded to the scene where they treated the 96-year-old victim, the passenger of the Buick for a serious leg injury.

They also treated a 59-year-old female, the operator of the Buick and transported her to a local hospital where she was treated for neck and chest pain.

The investigation is still ongoing.
