Woman Indicted For Human Trafficking In Connection With Illegal Massage Parlor

Tania Cipriano of Quincy, Mass. indicted on several charges

A Quincy, Massachusetts, woman was indicted Tuesday on human trafficking and prostitution-related charges in connection with running an illegal massage parlor in Everett.

Tania Cipriano, 45, will be arraigned at a later date.

"We allege that this defendant was running a massage business that served as a front for illicit activity, including human trafficking and prostitution," said Attorney General Martha Coakley. "She allegedly controlled the daily operations of the business, including recruiting employees, setting up appointments with clients and managing the money.

On Aug. 7, officers from the Everett Police Department and agents from U.S. Immigration and Customers Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations arrested Cipriano at an apartment where she was running an unlicensed massage parlor, that allegedly offered sexual services from women for a fee.

Cipriano allegedly kept a portion of the profits from this operation.

Authorities found condoms and several notebooks that indicated names, phone numbers and schedules of appointments at the Everett apartment. Authorities allege that Cipriano posted ads on websites known to advertise prostitution, set up appointments for the women, and managed the daily financial aspects of the organization.
