Woman Indicted on Sex Trafficking Charges

Kaieema Gadson was taken into custody Tuesday in Providence and ordered detained after appearing in U.S. District Court in Hartford

A 25-year-old Providence, Rhode Island, woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury and taken into custody on charges she was trafficking children for sex in Connecticut.

Kaieema Gadson was taken into custody Tuesday in Providence and ordered detained after appearing in U.S. District Court in Hartford.

She was originally arrested on Dec. 19, 2013 at the Two Trees Inn at Connecticut's Foxwoods Resort Casino as part of an investigation by a task force made up of federal, state and Mashantucket Pequot tribal authorities.

The task force said they were looking into what they called the "pervasive use" of websites to solicit prostitution at the casino.

It's not clear how Gadson was connected to the children. A message seeking comment was left with her federal defender in New Haven.
