Woman Pleads Guilty in Fatal Beating Outside Bar

Forty-four-year-old James Unfonak of Rochester was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he died of his injuries

A New Hampshire woman has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the beating death of a man outside a Rochester sports bar.

Foster's Daily Democrat reports 37-year-old Mandy Patch of Rochester was sentenced Monday to two consecutive one-year terms at the Strafford County House of Corrections. She pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault and riot.

Police responded to Gary's Sports Bar on Jan. 31 on a report that a man had been assaulted. Forty-four-year-old James Unfonak of Rochester was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. Autopsy results show he died of blunt force head injuries.

Prosecutors say surveillance video shows Patch cheering when Unfonak was struck by another man. They say the plea represents a "fair assessment" of her culpability.
