Woman Sentenced in Credit Card Scheme

Lois Patricia Patton sentenced to more than 4 years in federal prison

A Boston woman has been sentenced in New Hampshire to more than four years in federal prison for her role in a fraudulent credit card scheme.

Prosecutors said 45-year-old Lois Patricia Patton conspired with others last year to buy gift cards and high-value merchandise at retail box stores in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Georgia. They used retail credit card accounts and lines of credit in the names of others without authorization.

Prosecutors said Patton and others used false ID cards and disguises to help with some of the illegal transactions.

Patton pleaded guilty last year to charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. She was sentenced Monday in Concord to 54 months in prison.
