PD: Woman Fatally Stabbed With Steak Knife in Dispute Between Dorchester Neighbors

The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Fayston Street

A woman was fatally stabbed Tuesday morning in what police believe was a dispute between neighbors in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. on Fayston Street.

The victim, 34-year-old Sasha Morris, was taken to Boston Medical Center, where she later died. The suspect, 47 year old Elba Morales of Dorchester, arrested and charged with her murder.

Morris and Morales were at an apartment belonging to Morris’ boyfriend when they had an argument, police say. The argument became physical and Morales took a kitchen knife and, according to officials, stabbed Morris in the chest.

According to the police report, Morales was in a vehicle attempting to drive away when she was approached by police and told to get out of the car. When she was instructed to put her hands behind her back, she reportedly told police, "I know, I've been to jail before."

Morales is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court Tuesday.
