A woman was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by an MBTA commuter rail train in Somerville, Massachusetts.
MBTA officials said Transit Police responded to the area of Washington Street at about 6:30 a.m. for reports of a person struck.
The woman, in her 20's, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries. Her identity has not been released.
Commuter rail service on the Fitchburg Line was stopped until the scene could be cleared.
MBTA officials said foul play is not suspected.
Transit Police Detectives along with the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
