Woman Tried to Snort Cocaine While in Police Custody: Ledyard Police

Ledyard police have arrested a woman accused of trying to snort cocaine while in police custody.

Ledyard police arrested 25-year-old Nicole Hunter on Christmas day.

Police said the incident started when they received a BOLO for a black Kia SUV with New Hampshire plates because of erratic driving. Police located the vehicle with Hunter in the driver’s seat. According to police, Hunter was belligerent and uncooperative, screaming in a residential neighborhood and charging at officers.

She was arrested and taken to the police department. While at the department, Hunter allegedly pulled a powdery substance wrapped in paper out of her pocket and tried to snort it. The substance tested positive for cocaine, police said.

Hunter was charged with possession of narcotics, interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct. She was released on bond and is due in court on Jan. 8.
